When was the last time

I allowed time to play

With that little self hidden deep inside

Who keeps her innocence tucked in the glasshour of a favourite game

Waiting for the bus alone on a street I can still name,

Spinning spiders, webs and all things nice with the twiddle of my fingers

A guiding hand would lead me down the morning routine path

While I filled time with something with no name, I called it fine, I called it mine

Find those blocks, the bright and shiny red blocks

Amid giggles around, we all build our own house of dreams

No rules to define us, no need to be in line, we build it our way, with a free mind

If it breaks and tumbles, just find a new design!

Now I sit perched on a chair outside the folds of my mind

I watch but I don’t flinch, I notice instead of carry

The wonders of the maze I allowed my cognition to build

Forgetting the freedom I once possessed to create my own masterpiece

It’s a cool blue world but I have heat far beneath my feet

Don’t slip down the slide, just float in the oblivion of your space

Where every voice is distant and everything thrown my way isn’t meant to be caught

Let it pass, just let them all pass

The idea of it all is still unfinished and waiting to dry, to solidify

It’s fragile and not ready for be seen, it’s still mine to finish first

Give me more time to finish this artwork

Legends take forever and some never finish what they start.
